Ew, not a colour sensation – they were a quick afterthought! …
Anyway. Looks innocuous enough doesn’t it? Just a little pattern I knocked up. Not quite so easy as it sounds. If there is one thing I’ve learnt in my ’24′ years (*ahem*) it’s that one has to take things step by step. Not that I do this of course; I want to go from 0 to 60 in 1 second. My vision and flights of fancy outstrip my meagre pragmatism so impressively I usually never even start something given the weight of my creative ambition ;-). Learning from my mistakes a little, I’m trying to learn this design malarky step by step and not get upset that I can’t realise all my elaborate ideas after 2 weeks. I’ve got a simple half drop repeat and block repeat down pat with a single motif. All well and good. But I dont want to do a single motif endlessly, how does one create a design that has more complex shapes? More to the point how to create that into a seamless repeat. UGH. Not as simple as it seems. I drew a contained pattern, split it out into 4 (second pic) then drew more to fill the middle then merged them. Actually sounds very straight forward written down. Not so much! Got there though. I might fiddle around with it a bit more another day but that’s enough for today…bed beckons….

I’m loving your designs…and the colour combos
Thanks!
